UNIS offers media professionals and interested parties rapid access to all the breaking news and research being generated every week in Australian Universities. The following information will help you get acquainted with the UNIS site and gives a quick overview of what’s on offer and how to find it.

News and Research

Located in the main menu, News and Research brings you all the latest breakthroughs from Australian Universities. It is split up into 7 Faculties. The following explains what the Faculties are, what specialist fields they encompass and a quick link to the Faculty News start page. While every University has their own structure for disciplines the one adopted by UNIS is relatively generic.

Universities

There are 47 primary Universities in Australia. For a fast reference, overview and website address to click on the ‘Universities’ tab in the main menu and select the state of interest.

Navigation

Search
To search the UNIS site enter keywords into the search panel in the top right hand corner of every article. The search function is additive so if you type in UQ Psychology it will return all pages that include the words ‘UQ’ and ‘Psychology’.

Older Entries
The Home Page lists the latest 16 articles. You can view the previous 16 articles by clicking on the ‘Older Entries” link at the bottom of the list without leaving the home page.

Side Panel Navigation
The side panel navigation is available on every page. It allows for rapid navigation through the site.By clicking on any of the items in the side panel you will be taken to that page.
» The Main Menu items are quick links to the items in the main menu.
» The Tags panel takes you to all articles published in that month.

At the bottom of every article is a link to the category to which that article belongs. By clicking on the link you will be taken to the latest news in that category.
